New Category Tab for Extended Date Questions ?

I think if a question has been selected to have its expiration date extended, I think it would be helpful to have a new category ( just like questions put to a vote ) for it so that it can have the exposure to attract more people to answer it. OR even put it back up at the top of the category it was posted in as if it was a new quesiton, so more new people can have a chance to answer it that haven’t seen the question yet.
I think thats why most people extend their questions… they haven’t had the desired response to the question that they wanted…
Its a crap shoot some days and times to post a question… you just never know when the most people would be on to see it.
If you have to resubmit/post the question over again, then they subtract points, which I think is kind of unfair since you were unable to get qualtiy answers and I also remember posting duplicate/multiple questions can be a violation in the guidelines.
If you ahve to Repost a question that has unsatisfactory answers,or no answers, I think you should be able to repost it at LEAST ONCE for Free.

I like your idea of having a special tab.

As you mention, most people extend the days of their question because they really want answers – as opposed to just throwing one up for fun.

What say you Yahoo! ?

That kind of "refreshing" of the question would probably just be another crap shoot, as you say. The person would be better off simply resubmitting the question, maybe reworded to make it seem more answerable, maybe in a different category. It only costs 2 points (net), if they pick their own Best Answer to the question, so why not?

However, if you DO want to make that suggestion to YA for consideration, you can click the blue FORUM link at the top right of this page — and post it there. That is where they actually LOOK for these suggestions — and even sometimes implement them.

Exactly what I wanted to. The present extension of expiry date indeed is useless because questions comes up with the most recent one. When you extend a question, it stays where it is.

With your suggestion, You got a star from me.

I agree with Betty, and you. I think a special tab would be a great idea. I’ve had questions sit for days with only one or two responses, then I move them to another category and (if I don’t get trolls reminding me that I’ve already posted this elsewhere) I usually get more responses. Great idea! Here’s a star.

I quite agree, having had some of my questions enter voting before any decent answer was offered, and finding other questions closed even as I was answering. It is very much a crap shoot when you find your question lost as if it had never been asked.
