I am getting to know a friend better (possibly starting to date) What are some questions to ask?

We have known each other for 7 years and are now in a position to date each other. We are both attracted to each other. We know most of the important things and we are very open and honest with each other about things. Unfortunately, he is serving in Iraq currently and we have both decided that we want to get to know each other so when he returns we can determine if we want to date. Any questions I might ask would be greatly appreciated.

You could ask him where he wants to go with his life when he returns.What his plans are and tell him what yours are.How he feels about his family and how he feels about having a family of his own.
Where he would like to live.What his likes and dislikes are
What he thinks of religion and what his beliefs are on that.
How he feels about money and sharing expenses etc..
