How can I make myself less nervous/awkward for a date? Tips?

Does anyone else find their first dates are really awful and painful, no matter how much you like the person? I am overthink everything and cant be natural.

Yes, I still remember my first date. My bf and I were going out for 2 years before we went out on our first real date. We went to a movie, when I sat down I noticed that my seat felt funny, but did not think anything about it. My bf went out for a bit and during the most quiet part of the movie my seat gave away. Everyone in the theather turned around and starred at me. I sat over one seat and when my bf came back he noticed I changed seats. He asked me what happened. I told him and we laughed about it.

Then the rest of the date went normal and ended very nicely. I will never forget it :)

Dont worry the first dates are meant to be awkward, but that’s what’s so special about them. You remember them for a long long time :)

Just decide to be yourself and have fun. If you’re trying hard to impress the person, it’s much harder to relax.

i do get that feeling somtimes, but it often means that you really like the other person, and if they also have awkaward moments it means they are very intested in you as well. the awfulness comes out becuase you are too concerned with making a good impression, my adivce would be to remember that the person your dating is just a person like you or me, he or she will make mistakes and unless you do somthing over the top stupid (like suddenly stand up during dinner yell out a random word and start dancing) then there is nothing to worry about. The person you are dating wont judge you based on what you say or do (at least not on a first date) they will judge you based on gut feeling, chemestry and instinct, yes i can help to be eloquent, but in the end, it doesnt really matter

..just try relaxing man..its a date..relax..the more you think of what would happen the more you cant do anything..think of the present ask questions that are not so personal..be casual..dont think of what will happen after the date yet because you are still having the date..think of the present..but most inportantly RELAX..it helps ^_^
