Got a first date after far too many years of nothing. Any tips?

Met a guy on a night out last year – swapped numbers and had a few texts, but it fizzled out.

Sent a NY text to general friends – included him on a whim and he texted back.

Now meeting him after five months – he’s asked me out for a meal and chose a restaurant I’ve been wanting to go to for ages!!

Any tips for the first date + etiquette????? I was in long term relationship for 5 years and it’s been a long time shall we say :-)

Dress nice, don’t talk about your past relationship on the date, don’t drink too much, make sure to at least offer to leave a tip and remember to say thank you!

take it slow. no need to rush. if u feel he’s rushing then talk to him. if he doesnt listen, u kno how to open ur door nd throw him da peace sign. :)

Maybe it has been a long time, however if you are quick to climb into bed with him, it might end.

Make sure he isn’t harbouring a wife or significant other. Of course he might be newly dumped too. LOL

Good luck with that and have fun. Don’t worry, because all you have to do for most men, is show up.

    :-)

think of a few pop culture type topics to talk about incase nothing comes naturally, order food thats easy to eat and dont worry! im sure he’ll be nervous too even if hes been on a date recently. (and if you think theres any chance of him going back to yours, tidy)

Yikes, you must be nervous! Don’t go to the movies, you can’t talk and get to know each other there… I’d suggest dinner or a quiet place, like a dessert/coffee shop… Somewhere nice, where you can hear him and he’ll hear you, lol.. Most places now a days are way loud.

Good Luck! Have tons of fun!

Oh don’t wear too much perfume, some guys are bothered by that :)

Its nothing. Don’t place too much emphasis on it. Get to know what he wants.

Don’t be too eager. Definitely don’t drink too much. Go into the date with an open mind and be yourself. Good luck!

Try to look beautiful, not promiscuous in the way you dress…try not to talk about your ex unless he asks questions. Don’t get graphic about it…

Well I just want to wish you good luck! I hope it goes well for you both!
